Tokyo Blue

A lovely friend recently asked me if I could chop, hem and dye her old Tokyo Hopp. Absolutely! :)

I made sure to get this lovely back home as quickly as possible since this mama's expecting her newest little in less than four weeks. :)

She requested a light blue -- possibly something along the lines of Dharma's Wedgewood. While in the wedgewood bath, Tokyo proved it was up for a battle. The taupe threads are stubborn and like to turn blues green. So, it started out an olive grey color....

But after I added some more blue and some of my German stubborn side, I was able to turn ol' Tokyo blue...

Here it is (in front) in comparison to my brighter blue Tokyo (wrap geeks -- note the weave difference of these two Tokyos)

Aubbie-ing Jade Plum

I've had and loved Zara Aubergine -- more than once ;) -- and then bought a Jade Plum who won me over with wrapping qualities, but the light color in Plum was just a little too pink for my taste, so I decided a dip in some blue would bring Plum a little closer to being Aubbie-ish.
